Who is responsible
The controller is S.M. Digital, based in Rotterdam. You can ask questions about your data through the contact form.
What we record
If you consent to placement statistics, we record for each partner block shown or clicked which campaign and which block it was, which page it was on and at what moment. That includes no IP address, no identification of you and no click ID. So we cannot link that data to a person and we use it only to see which blocks work.
With the same consent we load Google Analytics. It records which pages you view, when, with what kind of device and browser, which country you are in and which site or search engine you came from. Google assigns you a random number that links your visits together. That number does not say who you are, but it is a recognisable trail, and we would rather call it that honestly here.
What you type in the search box is not sent. The search term is in the page address, and we remove that part before anything goes to Google. We do not measure the admin area of the site either.
If you give no consent, or choose no, we record nothing and Google Analytics is not loaded: not a single request goes to Google. The site otherwise works exactly the same.
Our hosting partner also keeps standard technical log files, such as requested addresses and error messages. These are needed to run and secure the site.
Third-party services
The fonts are loaded from Google Fonts. Your IP address goes to Google in the process, which may involve processing outside the EU.
If you consent to statistics, Google Analytics is also loaded from googletagmanager.com and Google places cookies on your device. Here too data may be processed outside the EU. The advertising features of Google Analytics are switched off: we share nothing with ad networks and no profile is built for personalised advertising. Without your consent this script is not loaded.
The site is hosted by Hostinger. If you click an affiliate link, from that moment the terms and privacy statement of the party you land on apply, for example Amazon or an advertiser through Awin.
Retention
We keep placement statistics for 24 months and then delete them. Data in Google Analytics is kept for no more than fourteen months. Your consent choice is stored in your own browser and disappears as soon as you clear that storage.
Your rights
You have the right to access, correct and delete your personal data, and you may object to processing. We ourselves keep nothing that identifies you, so there is usually nothing about you to be found in our own data.
The number Google Analytics uses is stored in a cookie on your own device. If you clear the cookies for this site, the link with earlier visits is gone. You can also withdraw your consent by clearing the local storage for this site; after that Google Analytics is no longer loaded.
You can lodge a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens).
